Turn a recorded lecture into study notes
Record a lecture, transcribe it, then turn it into clear study sheets: the method to revise faster without spending hours rewriting your notes.
During a lecture, it is hard to listen, understand and write everything down at the same time. The result: incomplete notes, and hours spent tidying them up before exams. By recording the lecture and transcribing it, you can focus on understanding, then prepare your study notes much faster.
Step 1: record the lecture in good conditions
- Ask the teacher for permission: it is a matter of respect, and often a requirement.
- Sit close to the teacher or put your phone on the desk, microphone facing them.
- Turn on airplane mode to avoid notifications and interruptions.
- Keep one recording per lecture: one file per session is easier to find later.

Step 2: transcribe the recording
Upload the file to AudioWhiz from your phone or computer. Common audio formats (MP3, M4A, WAV…) and video formats (MP4, MOV) are accepted. If the lecture is online on YouTube, you can also paste its link with a Pro or Premium plan.
In a few minutes, you get the full text of the lecture, which you can browse and search from start to finish.
Step 3: generate the study sheets
From the transcript, AudioWhiz's AI can produce a structured study sheet: the main concepts, the definitions, the points to remember. Depending on your plan, you can also get a summary of the lecture.
A generated sheet is a starting point, not an end in itself. Rereading it and completing it in your own words is precisely what helps you remember.
Step 4: revise actively
Once the sheet is ready:
- Read it once from start to finish to get the big picture.
- Hide it and try to recite the key points from memory.
- Go back to the transcript for the parts you did not understand: you will find the teacher's exact explanations, with their examples.
- Space out your revision: reviewing a sheet the next day, then a few days later, sticks far better than cramming the night before.
How much time do you save?
Tidying up one hour of lecture notes often takes an hour or more. With a recording and a transcript, you have the full text in a few minutes and a first study sheet right after: all that is left is to reread and complete it.

The AudioWhiz free plan includes 60 minutes of transcription per month, enough to test it on one or two lectures. Create your account, record your next lecture, and compare with your usual method.
